Federal Prison Industries is proud to provide the Bureau of Prisons with our improved version of the Stab Vest Outer Carrier for daily use by all Correctional Staff. UNICOR has developed an outer carrier which is superior in quality and more functional then the current style in use.
Quality: Long lasting 600 Denier Polyester, Urethane Coated Durable Water Resistant fabric outer shell.
- 600D Polyester is abrasion resistant; more durable than the 100% Polyester 4.2 oz/yard fabric used on the current version; and resistant to daily use wear and fabric tear.
- Improved durability of the 600D Polyester fabric will provide a longer useful life for the vest, requiring less frequent replacement.
- DWR coating provides water repellency as well as stain resistance. The coating also provides an easy to clean finish.
Flexibility: Flexibility. Side Panels utilize 75/25 Nylon/Spandex blend to create a stronger, more durable side panel that does not sacrifice flexibility. The current version provides a 92/8 Nylon/Lycra blend which provides less side panel stretch.
Comfort: 100% Nylon Mesh Liner versus polyester liner. Nylon and Polyester have very similar characteristics; however, Nylon mesh provides more stretch, better breathability, and resistance to oils.
Functionality: Vest includes Radio Holster, 2 Handcuff Pouches, and OC Canister Pouch (see Size Chart and Configuration List for Utility Pouch availability by size).
Appearance: High Quality Emblem Embroidery uses 14 colors and over 27,000 stitches.
