UNICOR manufactures berth curtains for US vessels (Navy, Coast Guard, NOAA; surface and submarines) per MilSpecs. Standard berth curtains consist of two panels, each 42" wide, either with or without fan cutouts. Special sizes and orders are available as are matching curtains/draperies for compartment privacy. Standard Features and Specifications:

  • Woven-fiber material is fire-resistant and shrink resistant.
  • Curtain cloth is opaque woven material meeting fire retardance and optical smoke density requirements of Mil-STD-1623
  • Shrinkage will be less than 4 percent in both the warp and filling directions after five launderings
  • Available colors: navy blue or red; special color fabrics are available
  • Available Classifications: Type 1 (Heavyweight pleated), 2 (Lightweight pleated) or 3 (lighweight unpleated)
  • All pleats are equal size of 50mm using 100mm of fabric with equal spacing between pleats
  • Hems on all edges will be no more than 20mm wide
  • Fire resistant labels sewn to the inside of the finished berth curtain will note the UNICOR model, order number, and manufacture date
  • Berth Widths: 84"
  • Berth Heights: 18" - 25" on the inch
  • Note that left and right panels will be equal sized

Fan Drapes are designed to fit snugly around berth fans and include snap tape with 5 1/2" spacing along the drape's top edge. Hook and loop fasteners are optional. Sizes are typically 6 1/2"W x 12 1/4 - 18 1/4"H. Please specify if the fan is on the left or right side (or both) when facing the bunk.
