Public Notice: Follow-up to Boots and Shoes

FSC 8430 and 8435

On April 18, 2013, Federal Prison Industries, Inc. (FPI) posted a notice in the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps). In this notice, FPI announced its proposal to produce Boots and Shoes, FSC 8430 and 8435, on a competitive basis, for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

FPI received three comments from interested parties regarding this proposed production, within the 30 days allowed. After consideration, the FPI Board of Directors approved FPI to produce Boots and Shoes classified in FSC 8430 and 8435, on a competitive basis, for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The inmate Boots and Shoes manufactured by FPI would otherwise be manufactured outside the United States.

Interested parties have a right to raise questions at any time with FPI’s Board of Directors.
